Position Overview:

As a Senior Accountant, you will play a key role in our accounting operations, utilizing your expertise in project management, financial analysis, and communication skills to deliver exceptional service to our clients. This position offers the flexibility to work remotely or in a hybrid capacity, providing an opportunity for candidates based in California or New York to join our team.

Essential Functions:

  •  Manage and oversee multiple accounting projects, ensuring timely completion and adherence to client deadlines.
  • Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and internal stakeholders to understand their financial needs and provide tailored solutions.
  • Perform reconciliations, journal entries, and other accounting tasks with a keen attention to detail.
  • Utilize your understanding of debits and credits to maintain accurate financial records and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes, enhance efficiency, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior team members, fostering their professional growth and development.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes to ensure compliance and optimize client outcomes.
  • Encourage new ideas and approaches to work.
  • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
  • Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
  • Develop and documents business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  • Manage project status and client relationships.
  • Able to identify additional and/or new service offerings.

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in accounting or the equivalent, and 3-5 years of pertinent experience
  • Leadership and talent development experience
  • Experience with Xero, QuickBooks Online Accounting Software, Bill.com, and Microsoft Word & Excel
  • Experience with small to medium-sized businesses
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
